Travel Information

One can enter the Jadavpur University campus through four gates: Gate 1 (3min walking distance from Jadavpur Rail Station), Gate 2 (opposite to Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand, 2min walking distance from Gate 1), Gate 3 (near to Jadavpur University Post Office, 2min walking distance from Gate 2), Gate 4 (at Bengal Lamp Bus Stop, 2min walking distance from Gate 3 and 4min walking distance from Jadavpur Police Station). Car and Taxi will pass only through Gate 4 which remains open 24 hours. Other gates remain open only during working hours (9am to 9pm except Saturday, Sunday and holidays). One can reach the venue (Department of Mathematics) from Gate 1, Gate 2, Gate 3 and Gate 4 by walking about 7min, 7min, 5min and 3 min respectively.

Recommended Routes

There are many ways to get to the venue or organization arranged hotels. We list the easiest way as a recommended route. The bus/taxi stands may be reached by asking any person or traffic police. The above pdf file describes some additional information.

From Dumdum international airport to Venue

• There are many buses at Airport which reach you Jadavpur Police Station or Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand (100min approx.). For convenience, we would like to mention some buses like: Jadavpur-Airport minibus (get down at Gate 4/Bengal Lamp), Jadavpur-Talligung (get down at Jadavpur Police Station).

• From Airport, Taxi may directly reach you the venue Department of Mathematics (Approx. 80min) through Gate 4 at Bengal Lamp.

From Howrah Railway Station to Venue

• There are many buses at Howrah which reach you Jadavpur University Gate 4 (Bengal Lamp) (60min approx.). For convenience, we would like to mention some buses like: Bus No. E-1, C5, 5, Howrah-BaishnavGhata minibus, (get down at Gate 4/Bengal Lamp, or Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand).

• From Howrah, Taxi may directly reach you the venue Department of Mathematics (Approx. 45min) through Gate 4 at Bengal Lamp.

From Sealdah Railway Station to Venue

• There are many buses at Sealdah which reach you Jadavpur University Gate 4 (Bengal Lamp) (45min approx.). For convenience, we would like to mention some buses like: Bus No. 45 (very frequent), K8 (get down at Gate 4/Bengal Lamp, or Jadavpur 8B Bus Stand).

• From Sealdah, Taxi may directly reach you the venue Department of Mathematics (Approx. 30min) through Gate 4 at Bengal Lamp.

From Kolkata Railway Station to Venue

• No direct bus is available.

• From Kolkata Station, Taxi may directly reach you the venue Department of Mathematics (Approx. 80min) through Gate 4 at Bengal Lamp.
